Interview

  • If you have to pick one thing that everyone else should absolutely know about you, what would it be?
I struggle with long term commitment to activities I'm not passionate about. I have been that way as long as I remember. However, should I be interested in something I'm very tenacious and don't settle for mediocre results. I also have a pretty existential approach to life.
  • What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?
My greatest passions are music, cinema, filming and editing - the last two I do both in my professional life and in my spare time. I'm also a space fanatic and big fan of nature documentaries, especially anything with David Attenborough or Brian Cox.
  • How do you go that ‘extra mile' in your life?
I try to excel on the goals I set myself and remember there is room for improvement even when you're at the top of your game.
  • What do you do for fun?
For fun I meet friends, go out or go cycling with music blasting in my ears. I enjoy cinema and nature or science exhibitions and museums. I also take great pleasure in filming and editing video content which I do pretty constantly.
  • Tell us what you consider to be your greatest life experience.
Moving to the UK was one of the best decisions I've ever made, followed by a countless number of experiences that liberated me and allowed me to grow as a person, of which most recent would be taking the position of the Advocacy Director at the London branch of Impulse - a gay men's sexual and mental health organisation.
  • What makes you stand out from the crowd?
I don't like keeping up appearances. Being real and loving life truthfully is a lot more rewarding than being in denial of reality. Additionally, I tend to speak up where I believe necessary, even it it's considered inappropriate or uncomfortable.
  • What are your greatest personal traits?
I'm good company, fairly easy to look at and intelligent. I'm also no stranger to wit and humour.
  • How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or you are more of a homebody?
I travel a lot for work and occasionally by myself. I wouldn't class myself as neither big traveller nor homeboy. My concept of an exciting trip would be places like Galapagos, the Great Barrier Reef, sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia etc
  • What kind of diet and fitness regiment do you follow?
I don't have a specific regime. I do however try to get to the gym to do some heavy lifting 3-4 times a week and I cycle regularly. As for my diet I don't have much sugar and most of it comes from fruit. I stick to high protein food sources and try to avoid processed carbs... maybe with the exception of pasta 🙄 Italian is my guilty pleasure.
  • What’s your lifestyle? What makes you who you are?
I love exploring new places and concepts. I make acquaintances easily and find my way around any place I may end up. I enjoy being busy and surrounded by people, as well as sharing my life with others. However I tend to unwind on my own - it's when I find my peace.
  • What would you like your followers to know about you that is unique and even a bit personal?
I'm HIV positive undetectable. Quite a bomb to throw, perhaps. I want my adult work to be as authentic as anything else I do, which is why I decided to make my status public. I appreciate some people aren't educated enough in the matter or just aren't ready to hear it and it may put them off hiring me. That's okay. I invite all of you to check out current facts regarding living with HIV. Those of you who past this point are still interested - thank you for being part of the progress and welcome to the real me.
  • If you and I were on the beach having some wine and great food, what would you tell me about yourself.
You'll find out when we sit on a bench with wine and food. Why engross ourselves in hypotheticals when we can go out there and actually live this life.
  • What should others absolutely know about you?
My kindness has limits but should never be taken for weakness
  • What do you enjoy most about yourself?
    Empathy and off-beat creativity
  • Name 5 things that you can’t live without.
    Phone
    Coffee
    Nature documentaries
    Camera
    Moisturiser
