Interview

  • Tell us what you consider to be your greatest life experience.
This might sound odd. I don’t know if it’s my greatest but it’s definitely too 10. A few months after I came out of the closet I was sitting at a restaurant and I saw that their specialty was flavored martinis. Appletini, Mangotini and the like. It seems silly now but I had always wanted to try one of them but just bever been able to bring myself to do it.

Then a little voice in the back of my head said, “afraid to order the fruity drink because why? The waiter might assume you’re gay? You are. So who cares?”

It is the moment the entire burden of toxic masculinity was lifted from me.

The Mangotini I ordered was pretty underwhelming, but it is the most memorable cocktail I’ve ever had.
  • What is your ‘niche’?
Jack of all trades seems the opposite of a niche but it is what I would call mine. I am open to everything and competent in the school of google and wikihow.

I’m not the guy you call when only the best will do, but I am the guy who will get it done correctly for the value.
  • If you have to pick one thing that everyone else should absolutely know about you, what would it be?
One think. One think. I think that everyone should know that I am the greatest enabler you will ever find. This is both a warning and a feature. I have played D&D for years and when it comes to roleplay I tend to follow the narrative with ease.
  • How do you go that ‘extra mile' in your life?
I am an introvert at heart, so for me to be able to be outgoing I have to really take the time to get to know people. I hate small talk so let’s talk religion and politics.
  • What do you do for fun?
I play video games, listen to NPR (More Perfect and Radiolab are my favorites) and am building my own wood working shop from reclaimed lumber in the garage.

If it involves water; swimming, boating, fishing, then I am in heaven.
  • How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or you are more of a homebody?
I love to travel, I have been to every state, Canada, and Mexico, as well as Europe and Asia. When all is said and done I am an introvert at heart so I’m usually a homebody
  • What kind of diet and fitness regiment do you follow?
I cook most of my own food and practice portion control without any firm dietary restrictions. I work out when I have the time and motivation but I’m comfortable in my dad bod.
  • What’s your lifestyle? What makes you who you are?
I like to make myself comfortable wherever I am. Don’t necessarily need the designer wear, but know how to appreciate it when I see it. Pretty minimalist and organized
  • What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?
Reading, writing, digital art, video editing, and video games
  • What are your greatest personal traits?
Jack of all trades. I’ve got a really good memory but an inability to focus it. This means I can talk at length about Football, Gravitational Wave, video games or current events in the same conversation.
  • If you and I were on the beach having some wine and great food, what would you tell me about yourself.
Born in Seattle, moved here when I was young. I love anecdotes and useless facts. I enjoy reading and tend to only listen to memoirs as audio books. Everything else I prefer the physical print. Love to curl up with a warm drink and a good book.
  • What should others absolutely know about you?
They should know that I am almost always honest and earnest when sometimes it comes off as sarcasm.
  • Name 5 things that you can’t live without.
Sex. Video Games. Dogs. Internet Access. New Food
  • What do you enjoy most about yourself?
My ability to put myself in other peoples shoes and find common ground. Even get away with politics and religion discussions without creating ill will.

Also the lady that does my pedicures says I’ve got the best toes she’s ever seen. I’ll have to take her word for it.
